Lawson’s Dry Hills received the ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ award at the Marlborough Chamber of Commerce Business Awards held

in Blenheim last month.

From the highest number of entries ever received (over 70) there were four ‘sector’ category and seven ‘special’ category winners, one of which was the ‘Kiwibank Excellence in Sustainability’.

Not a stranger to awards of this nature, Lawson’s Dry Hills General Manager, Sion Barnsley, said, “It’s great to get recognition for something that we’ve always done just because we believe it is the right thing to do.” He continues, “It’s a joint effort - our team of 18 all contribute - it’s through every part of our business.”

A winner in 2023 at the New Zealand International Business Awards, this latest acknowledgment marks the company’s continuous sustainability journey. From Sustainable Winegowing New Zealand, to independent certifications for ISO14001 (environmental management) and ISO14064 (carbon zero), Lawson’s Dry Hills is New Zealand’s most sustainably certified wine producer.

In addition to environmental sustainability, becoming a Certified B Corp a year ago, also shows the company’s commitment to high

standards of social performance, accountability, and transparency.
