Peloponnese, Greece — [01.01,2026] — Giannikos Winery is proud to announce its participation in the upcoming Wine Paris Exhibition 2026, the world’s leading trade fair dedicated to organic wines. The family-run winery, rooted in Corinth on the Peloponnese, will present its newest creation:
Rumors –Kydonitsa, a limited-edition white wine that celebrates the depth and elegance of one of Greece’s upcoming indigenous grape varieties.
It is crafted from the rare Kydonitsa grape, native to the Peloponnese and cherished for its aromatic complexity and vibrant character. Aged in new oak barrels, this wine marks an evolution in Giannikos Winery’s portfolio — marrying traditional Greek varietals with contemporary winemaking techniques to achieve an exquisite balance of fruit, texture, and finesse.
“With Rumors –Kydonitsa, we wanted to highlight the authenticity of Greek terroir while exploring new dimensions of flavor,” says Michalis Giannikos, winemaker and owner of Giannikos Winery. “Our goal is to show that indigenous Greek varieties can stand proudly among the world’s most celebrated wines.”
Visitors at Wine Paris will have the unique opportunity to taste a curated selection of Greece’s indigenous varieties, each telling a story of history, landscape, and craftsmanship. Alongside Kydonitsa, guests can explore wines made from Roditis, Malagouzia, Agiorgitiko and Avgoustiatis, and other emblematic wines such the modern style Retsina — all organically cultivated under the Mediterranean sun.
Giannikos Winery continues to work on sustainability, biodiversity, and organic viticulture, ensuring every bottle reflects the purity of its origin. Through its participation in Millésime Bio, the winery aims to share the diversity and richness of Greek wine culture with an international audience of professionals, journalists, and wine lovers.
