Another top-notch performance for Freccianera. This time, the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025, one of the world’s largest and most influential wine competitions, presented the Franciacorta winery with a truly exceptional recognition, among the more than 18,000 wines evaluated in blind tasting by the jury. Freccianera’s Riserva Casa delle Colonne Zero was awarded the Platinum Medal, Decanter’s most prestigious award: 137 have been awarded worldwide and 30 in Italy, of which only two were awarded to Franciacorta. This is yet another significant recognition, recognizing the mastery of the Franciacorta producer and his 10-year-aged Riservas.
While Freccianera’s Riserva Casa delle Colonne Zero was awarded the Platinum Medal, Decanter’s most prestigious award, this isn’t the only recognition the winery has earned this year. It’s the only winery in Franciacorta to have all its sparkling wines recognized.
Decanter also awarded the Gold Medal and top scores to the vintage wines Freccianera Rosa (95) and Freccianera Nature (96), two of only four Franciacorta wines to earn the Gold Medal on this occasion.
These results are complemented by other Decanter awards:
The Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) are one of the most prestigious international wine competitions, organized by Decanter magazine. Each year, a panel of experts evaluates wines based on rigorous criteria such as taste and complexity. The awards, particularly the Gold and Silver medals, increase the visibility of wines and are an important reference point for consumers and professionals.
Freccianera is spearheading the new positioning of Fratelli Berlucchi, a winery with roots dating back to 1927 and a founding member of the Franciacorta Consortium, now present in the finest restaurants and wine bars around the world.
These awards add to its already impressive list of accolades, for a brand concept that confirms a coherent and distinctive winemaking vision, masterfully interpreting the Franciacorta method and enhancing every single grape from its vineyards through lengthy aging.
