For over three centuries, our Tesch winery in Langenlonsheim on the Nahe River has been synonymous with precision craftsmanship and wines full of character. Now in its tenth and eleventh generation under the leadership of Johannes and Martin Tesch, the family business combines tradition with a modern mindset and a clear vision. We focus on what makes our region unique – Riesling.
The Nahe is one of Germany's most diverse wine-growing regions. Volcanic, chalky or loamy soils and sandstone characterise the unmistakable character of the wines. Tesch deliberately concentrates on the Riesling grape variety in order to showcase its facets in their purest form: pure, dry and concise. Each vineyard has its own personality: from the gentle LÖHRER BERG to the powerful KARTHÄUSER and the strikingly mineral ST. REMIGIUSBERG. In addition to the top Riesling vineyards, there are also small vineyards planted with Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc.
Sustainable cultivation, selective hand harvesting and a respectful approach to nature form the basis for the precise style for which TESCH is known.
Numerous top ratings and international awards demonstrate that this approach is gaining recognition. The wines of the Tesch winery have been at the forefront of German Riesling culture for years and can be found on the wine lists of renowned restaurants worldwide. The wines are made for connoisseurs, sommeliers and restaurateurs who appreciate honest, dry Rieslings with character and depth.

With elevated vineyards of richly calcareous soils in the cool northern Pfalz, Weingut Axel Neiss has made a name through linear, mineral-driven Rieslings and stimulating Pinot family wines. Yet an ever-growing circle of connoisseurs have also discovered the charms of the estate’s outstanding whites and reds at all quality levels, many with a nuanced barrel influence.
The estate's wines benefit naturally from the region's distinctive coolness and from the west wind circulating regularly through the vineyards. The vegetation period in Kindenheim routinely begins as many as ten days later than elsewhere in the Pfalz. A generally cooler climate predominates here, bringing with it a longer vegetation period and ultimately wines of moderate alcohol levels and a great flavor depths. Even when ripe fruit and fully developed aromas are in play, the refreshing acid backbone remains in place.
Axel Neiss’ approach to winemaking has also been shaped by the rich and clearly visible limestone content of his soils. He grasped early on that his good to very good sites required a decisive interpretive hand, as well as an extremely minimalist approach to intervention. Yet this was only the start. An extraordinary amount of hands-on attention is required to achieve the wines he envisions: deep, dense, and expressive ambassadors of the Pfalz, shaped by a fresh elegance and animating agility. His wine style, which pursues clarity, linearity, and moderate alcohol levels, earned him the title of Vinum Weinguide's 2022 “Rising Talent in Pfalz” and a spot among the top 20 estates in the region.
Over the past decade, Axel Neiss and his wife Katja have leaned on the support of the excellent estate team to implement a variety of forward-looking steps that reflect not only quality, but also operational sustainability. Weingut Neiss has been a member of “FAIR‘N GREEN” since 2013, factors that reflect the estate’s lo-fi approach and dedication to producing wines at all quality levels with recognizable minerality, expression, complexity, and an ever-increasing aging potential.
