Armenia
Co-exhibitor of Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia
Van Ardi is a boutique winery with a goal to create an environment where grape growing, wine tourism, old and new winemaking traditions, and art will find a harmonious juncture in a most favorable terroir of the Armenian lands. It is also the company’s intent to foster a winemaking culture that will become a lifestyle for generations to come.
Work on this project began in 2005. After scrupulous analytics of the land and terrain, the vineyard was established and planted with the Areni, Kakhet, Syrah, Haghtanak and Kangun varietals. The vineyard is located in Ashtarak, a region that boasts thousands of years of winemaking history, at 1000m above sea-level, and is endowed with volcanic rocks and soil that is rich with minerals. The vineyard is positioned on hills with south and south-west facing slopes.
Van Ardi issued its first generation of wines, the 2013 vintage, from its estate winery in the fall of that year. These wines have already been successfully accepted by both local and international markets. From cultivation to bottling, the company commits itself to careful winemaking practices in order to obtain exceptionally high-quality wines
