Valdemar is a family-owned winery with more than 135 years of history and five generations dedicated to winemaking. Our roots are in Rioja, where we have been crafting wines since 1889, combining respect for the vineyard and tradition with a strong commitment to innovation, sustainability, and an international outlook.
In Rioja DOCa, we work with a wide diversity of estate vineyards across the different subzones, focusing on native grape varieties, single-vineyard wines, and distinctive projects that express the character of the land. This philosophy has positioned Valdemar as one of the leading family wineries in the appellation, with a strong presence in international markets.
In the United States, Valdemar took a decisive step in 2019 with the creation of Valdemar Estates in Washington State, becoming the first non-American winery to produce wine in the region. From Walla Walla Valley, Valdemar Estates crafts wines that showcase the potential of the Pacific Northwest, applying generations of winemaking expertise from Rioja to a new viticultural environment, with a contemporary and open-minded approach.
Today, Valdemar is an international wine project that connects two regions, two cultures, and two ways of understanding wine, united by a single vision: to produce high-quality wines with identity, sense of place, and global ambition.
