About

The primary mission…From Tokyo to New York, from Shanghai to London and from Paris to Montreal, the members of the Union pursue their primary objective in cooperation with distributors, brokers and merchants: to meet some 50,000 or so professionals and wine lovers each year around the world and present their latest vintages to them. Hosted by estate owners or their operational staff, some 80 events take place each year in over a dozen countries. As well as France, of course, they include Europe (Germany, UK, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Russia), North America (US and Canada) and Asia (China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore). The Union has often played a pioneering role in opening up these markets, especially in Asia.

In addition to its primary promotional mission, the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux is also an ambassador for French culture, in which wine plays a prominent part. Underpinned by the values of sharing and conviviality, these encounters in foreign countries very often lead to long-standing links of friendship.

The Union was also the originator of another highlight of the Bordeaux wine calendar, Primeur Week. An opportunity to reserve fine wines at preferential prices while they are still in the barrel, the annual event draws 5 – 6,000 wine professionals from all over the world.

CHÂTEAU DASSAULT

France
7.1 | G 101

The 2023 vintage marks the second vintage of Château Dassault’s new era. Since the last classification in 2022, structural changes have strengthened the estate’s qualitative ambition, notably with the integration of Château Faurie de Souchard into Château Dassault. Numerous trials, based on the identity of the terroirs, their shared potential, and their complementarity, have led to the birth of a new Château Dassault.

The commissioning of the new winery, a true tool for precision, illustrates the scale of the transformation undertaken by Château Dassault: double-walled temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, parcel-by-parcel vinification, gravity-based filling and racking, aging in large wooden casks and amphorae to preserve fruit and freshness.

These developments have given rise to a reimagined Château Dassault, where each vintage reveals ever more of its complexity, elegance, and precision.

CHÂTEAU PAVIE MACQUIN

Château Pavie Macquin is a Premier Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, located on the appellation’s historic limestone plateau. Owned by the Corre-Macquin family, the estate has been managed by Nicolas Thienpont for over 30 years. The vineyard is farmed with great care, with a strong focus on respecting the living ecosystem, expressing the terroir and achieving precision in winemaking. The limestone soils give the wines remarkable depth, freshness and excellent ageing potential. Pavie Macquin wines stand out for their balance, combining intensity, elegance and a refined texture, faithfully reflecting both their origin and each vintage.
