The estate was founded in 1300 AD. as a hunting lodge of the noble Scaligeri family, lords of Verona. Over the centuries the structure expanded until it reached its maximum splendour under the ownership of Cardinal Ridolfi, becoming a reference point for the entire valley. It is a self-sufficient settlement which produces wine and oil through its natural water source. Inside the estate there is a spectacular cellar, built between 1400 and 1500, formerly used for wine production and agricultural products conservation.
A few kilometres from Verona city, located on the hills of the upper Val Squaranto, at about 380 meters above sea level, the estate was brought back to life respecting its original structure. Gardens, olive groves and vineyards run organically.
Six hectares of olive trees and about three hectares of vineyards are cared and kept daily by the owner and her historic farmers, who love this land and know how to interpret the messages it communicates with great sensitivity. The knowledge of the territory allows us to adopt the most appropriate agronomic practices. The human factor plays a decisive role.
Four vineyards surround the property: Il Brolo Alto, Il Binte, La Mezzaluna and La Pala. In its inside, indigenous Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Croatina grow.
Within the charming and historic Torre di Terzolan cellar, three exquisite wines are produced: Valpolicella DOC, Valpolicella DOC Superiore and Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG. The annual production is about 12000 bottles.
In the ancient portico the typical cool Val Squaranto wind current allows a natural drying of the grapes. Our wines are waiting to be tasted in their best expression.
