The history of Villa Canestrari dates back to 1888 when the ancestor Carlo Bonuzzi graduated in Oenology, carrying on the family wine-making tradition in the Illasi Valley, Veneto region. A century later, a marriage based on love merges the two wine-producing families, Franchi and Bonuzzi under the title of Villa Canestrari. Today the fourth generation is represented by Francesco Bonuzzi, who is running the winery together with his mother Adriana Franchi.
The wine production includes the white wines of Soave and the reds of Valpolicella, such as Ripasso and Amarone.
The vineyards of Villa Canestrari favour the production of both types of wine, with the same care and equally successful results. Monitoring every single step of the wine-making process allows Villa Canestrari to guarantee wines of outstanding quality.
In Illasi, the Wine Museum of Villa Canestrari tesifies the long tradition of the family in wine-making.
