Podere Pellicciano is an historic farm, known since 1830, but it is only since 2003 that the Caputo family has decided to devote itself to its rebirth
Few places in Tuscany have become famous for products not only for the wine, and one of these is San Miniato, close to Pisa, known, like Langhe area, for its precious White Truffle.
San Miniato is an ancient territory, crossed by several rivers, it is a continuous alternation of clays, marine fossils and layers of white tuff. Its valley conveys the winds that come from the sea, refreshing the grapes and creating an ideal microclimate. Thanks to its conformation, the San Miniato area manages to be strongly suited for quality viticulture.
We spend most of our time working in the vineyard, because it is only thanks to careful management of the vineyards we are able to produce the best grapes.
With the harvest, the vinification stage starts, which is the process where our wines born. Finally, with the storage, we accompany them until bottling.
All process is carried out and managed directly within our farm, only in this way are we able to keep the supply chain intact for a quality production.
The varieties we grow are the historical ones of our old vineyards, which after a careful massal selection have been spreaded and also inserted in the new vineyard.
Sangiovese, Malvasia Nera, Colorino and Canaiolo for the red varieties and Trebbiano, Malvasia Bianca, San Colombano and Vermentino for the white grapes
