Parés Baltà is a family-owned winery with roots dating back to 1790. They produce organic and biodynamic wines and cavas, blending tradition, innovation, and creativity. All their wines are made from grapes grown on five estate-owned vineyards, located at altitudes ranging from 170m to 750m, providing a wide variety of soils and microclimates that give unique character to their wines. The vineyards have been cultivated organically since their inception and biodynamically since 2012, certified by Demeter.
In 2003, the Cusiné family expanded into the captivating Priorat region, selecting vineyards in the higher areas. The dry climate, combined with the unique Llicorella (slate) soil and native grape varieties such as Garnatxa and Carinyena, enabled them to produce exceptional wines. Following their philosophy of environmental respect, they farm organically without pesticides or herbicides. Gratavinum is known for its innovative spirit, and in 2017, their wine Silvestris was ranked among the best natural wines in the world by Decanter Magazine.
In 2005, the Cusiné family embarked on a new project in Ribera del Duero, guided by the traditional methods of the region’s early winemakers. They selected old Tinto Fino vines, spread across different zones of the appellation, to reflect their winemaking philosophy. In the cellar, they aim to express the unique character of the Tinto Fino grape, combining the best terroirs with innovative techniques, such as pre-fermentative maceration and aging in 400-liter oak barrels and clay amphorae. Dominio Romano blends tradition with innovation to create distinct wines.
Just as a great dish begins with exceptional ingredients, outstanding wine starts with the finest grapes—our "raw material."
In the midst of 2020, during the global pandemic, brothers Joan and Josep Cusiné seized the opportunity to rethink the future. At their family winery, with decades of organic farming and over 10 years of biodynamic practices, they began experimenting with sulfite-free winemaking. This project was born from a deep respect for nature, the soil, and the vines.
With the 2020 harvest, they created Matèria Prima, a project of natural wines crafted with no sulfites and minimal intervention—just pure, fermented grape juice.
Their mission is clear: to create clean, high-quality, expressive wines that are approachable and enjoyable for everyone. Matèria Prima represents honest, natural wines that speak to both the seasoned connoisseur and the curious newcomer.
