Bessa Valley Winery was founded in 2001 on the outskirts of the Rhodope Mountains, near the village of Ognianovo in southern Bulgaria. The estate is rooted in predominantly clay and limestone soils, which give the wines their structure, power, freshness, and distinctive minerality. The valley is naturally protected: bordered to the south by the Rhodope Mountains and to the north by rolling hills rising to around 230 meters. Its location is further enhanced by the influence of the Maritsa River, flowing just a few kilometres away, creating a favourable microclimate for refined, characterful wines.
