My name is Gabriele Florio, and I am the producer at La Combarbia, a family-owned winery located in the heart of Montepulciano "Cervognano", Tuscany (Italy).
We specialize in crafting natural wines 100% Sangiovese with a deep respect for traditional methods and our unique terroir like our elegant VINO NOBILE DI MONTEPULCIANO D.O.C.G.
aaaOur wines are created through spontaneous fermentation processes in old concrete tank, without additives, ensuring that each bottle captures the true essence of our tuscan land. Our natural winemaking relies on a concept of utmost respect for the raw material, aimed at enhancing varietal and territorial features of the Sangiovese.

aaaWhile the D.O.C.G. of Nobile allows for blends with Sangiovese at a minimum of 70%, we are committed to working with pure 100% Sangiovese. We’re fortunate to have vineyards located in one of the most favorable areas of Montepulciano, Cervognano, where the unique clay soils yield smaller quantities of Sangiovese grapes but of exceptionally high quality.
In line with this distinctive choice, we age our Vino Nobile D.O.C.G. for a longer period than most, spending 18 months in French oak barrel rather than the typical 12. Afterward, our wine rests an additional 3–4 months in steel and a minimum of one year in bottle.
This dedication to extended aging means our wines reach the market later than others, with our most recent vintage being the 2020 Vino Nobile DOCG. This process allows us to achieve softer, rounder tannins and an overall more elegant wine.
