An incredible project is underway at Poggio Torselli led by a visionary named Pasquale Cusano who was born in Puglia and raised in Florence by a humble farmer's family. In 1966, he was forced to move to Canada when his farmland was completely destroyed by the big floods that devastated Florence. In Canada, he didn’t let his loss deter him, instead he used his great determination and vision to build one of North America’s best luxury jewellery stores, and 2 high-end magazines as well. Almost 55 years later, Mr. Cusano's dream was finally realized, when he was able to return to his origins and immerse himself, once again, in the wine and agricultural world. Today he proudly owns TENUTA POGGIO TORSELLI purchased in 2021.
After the acquisition of these vineyard, he proceeded to call his company IL CONTADINO CUSANO, meaning "Farmer Cusano", whose goal is to raise the quality of our products. POGGIO TORSELLI has 50 hectares of vines, where the clayey-calcareous soil, rich of marine substrates which are mainly composed of fluvial deposits, produce powerful and crisp wines.
