THE DOMAINE La Navicelle stretches across seven kilometres of the Mediterranean coast, nestled between mountain and sea at the foot of the Colle Noire mountain range. Here, our plots unfurl in perfect harmony with lush groves of olive and pine. In this rugged landscape typical of Provence, varieties of Rolle and Clairette grapes bloom mainly for the production of our white wines, while Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Tibouren, and Cinsault furnish our red and rosé vintages. To this day we benefit from twenty-one hectares of vines which are located right in the heart of Provence on the northern aspect of a montain range called La Colle Noire, bordering the protected area of outstanding natural beauty known as the French littoral. Our vines flourish upon terraces of dense clay atop a rocky substrate of limestone, sandstone, and schist. Their northward facing and their proximity to La Colle Noire protect them from the Provencal sun, so allowing us to obtain wines which are at the same time generous, complex, and of a fine minerality with an identity distinctive to their terroir. OUR PHILOSOPHY We have ranged our twenty-one hectares of vines in true respect for the surrounding ecosystem, encompassing all its flora and fauna: since 2014 the Estate has been certified by Agriculture Biologique France (AB), taking biodynamic principles as our fundamental inspiration. This approach, coupled with our deep-seated committment to ecology, naturally gives rise to harmonious wines worthy of the finest terroirs. From the beginning we have sought out excellence as our mission: we have continually re-evaluated our practices and have made substantial investments in order to reach the finest standards of quality. Having long reflected on the ideal method for our work, we routinely scrutinise our approaches to the soil, to the pruning of our vines, to palissage, to plant protection treatments, and to harvesting. We maintain our exacting philosophy of cultivation right up to the moment our wines reach the cellar: this ultra-efficient space is equipped with its own bottling line in order to render the process entirely autonomous.
