Co-exhibitor of WINE OF MOLDOVA
Cricova Winery is a unique winery in the world and represents the National-Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Moldova. Cricova Winery was founded in 1952 by Petru Ungureanu and Nicolae Sobolev, when the former underground galleries of the limestone mine in the town of Cricova were used for the first time in the Republic of Moldova for the production of sparkling wine according to the classic French method "Methode Traditionelle". Since 1952 has begun the unique history of the winery, which has become a huge underground city at a depth of up to 100 m underground and over 120 km of underground streets with independent infrastructure. In the underground city there is a constant temperature of +12… +14 °C all over the year, which allows the qualitative maturation of wines. In the "National Collection" of the Republic of Moldova are over 1,000,000 bottles of rare and famous wines from Republic Moldova and other different countries, including a unique bottle produced in Jerusalem in 1902.
Cricova is the first and largest winery in Moldova that produces sparkling wine according to the French classical method "Méthode Traditionalle", method of Dom Pierre Pérignon. Just here, you can meet the only Remueurs in the country. Annually, 2.000.000 bottles of classical sparkling wine are on sale.
Since 2022, in the process of transition to organic vines and organic wine Cricova Winery launched to the general public a new range of organic wines - WILD Fetească Regală and WILD Fetească Neagră. Produced according to a number of strict rules, these wines possess exceptional organoleptic qualities.
