The wines of the Savoyard Winemaker are marketed by Le Comptoir des Vins de Savoie, on the various distribution networks and on a short circuit at the Caveau de Chautagne, in Ruffieux, as well as in its store Vilavigne d'Albertville.

Denis and Didier Berthollier cultivate 12 hectares of vineyards using organic and biodynamic farming practices. Located on the slopes of the Savoyard mountains, just 10 kilometers from Chambéry, at the crossroads of the three valleys of Chambéry, Grenoble, and Albertville, their estate is a true gem for wine enthusiasts.
The harvest and sorting are carried out entirely by hand. Vinification is done without sulfur, utilizing indigenous yeasts, with a light sulfiting at bottling. The wines are aged in barrels, demi-muids, and amphorae.
They produce around ten cuvées, either single-parcel or blended:
- Chignin "Vieilles Vignes," white, made from the Jacquère grape
- Chignin "Argile sur Schistes," white, single-parcel, made from the Jacquère grape
- Roussette de Savoie "Baron Decouz," white, single-parcel, made from the Altesse grape
- Chignin Bergeron "Exception," white, made from the Roussanne (Bergeron) grape
- Chignin Bergeron "Les Salins," white, single-parcel, made from the Roussanne (Bergeron) grape
- Rouge de Savoie "Sel de Marius," red, made from the Pinot Gamay grape
- Rouge de Savoie "Et ma goutte de ...," red, made from the Mondeuse grape
- Rouge de Savoie "Les Granges Tissot," red, made from the Mondeuse grape
- Rouge de Savoie "Arbyola," red, made from the Persan grape
Terroir:
One-third of the vineyard features vines on stakes in terraced and steep slopes, situated on clay-limestone scree. Another third consists of trained vines on mid-slopes, also on clay-limestone scree. The final third is located on glacial moraine.
This unique terroir, combined with meticulous farming and winemaking practices, results in wines that truly express the character of the region.

Founded in 1949, Maison Cavaillé fashions the singularities of the Savoyard terroir into characterful wines. The rounded Roussette and Chignin Bergeron are reminiscent of gentle snowy landscapes, the Apremont and other Jacquères are inspired by Savoyard vitality, while the Gamay and Pinot Noir encompass the fruity sweetness of summer evenings, not forgetting the Mondeuse, a symbol of the power of the alps and ancestral traditions. Cavaillé works with dedicated winemakers, carefully drawing up the vinification specifications for the 22 Savoyard crus.
Jean Perrier & Fils is a family estate from father to son for 7 generations, since 1853. With a vineyard of 62 hectares, we are the leading company making mountain wines (close to the Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Europe) with typical grapes as Jacquere, Altesse or Mondeuse. The history of our family has been linked to the history and wines of Savoy and the French Alps ever since. The passion and dedication to our indigenous grape varieties shows in the hard work all done by hand due to the sheer steepness of the parcels and the final quality of our wines. The grapes of Savoie Wines are largely unknown outside the region, many of them cannot be found anywhere else. The altitude creates stunning fresh and idiosyncratic styles – a must for any wine list. Our Savoie Wines, are appreciated for their great complexity and freshness, very dry, fruity with a lot of minerality. They offer a great new experience in the world of wine.
It all began in 1966 when Marcel and Yvonne Viallet, who had previously worked in a plant nursery, bought the ‘Clos Réservé’ vineyard in Apremont (10km from Chambery in the Savoie) and started looking after the 2.5 hectares of vines.
In 1982, after a serious accident, Marcel Viallet handed over the reins to his eldest son, Pierre Viallet.
In 1984, after finishing his wine studies in Beaune, their second son, Philippe Viallet, joined the team. He quickly realised the potential of the wine market and encouraged the family estate to move into the sale of the region’s wines, the ‘Vins de Savoie’.
He created the wine trader aspect of the business in 1985, calling it the ‘Maison Philippe
Viallet’.
In 2008, Philippe Viallet bought a prestigious winery called ‘Les Fils de René Quenard’. This estate, which extends over 18 hectares, situated in Chignin, mainly produces the ‘Chignin Bergeron’ cru. Its best known brands are ‘La Bergeronnelle’, as well as the Chignin ‘La Maréchale’ and ‘La Montagne’.
