Located in the heart of green Provence, the Château Gasqui valley extends to the north of the last foothills of the Maures massif. At an altitude of 280m, it benefits from a privileged natural location: the clay-limestone terraces where the vineyard is located surround Lake Bonne Cougne, a geological sinkhole, hosting endemic flora and fauna of exceptional interest and classified as European natural heritage protected Natura 2000.
The 25 hectares of vines are harvested by hand, the grapes are transported in twenty-kilo boxes to the underground cellar dating from 1898. We carry out gravity vatting to gently accompany the harvest.
The fermentation of the wines will take place thanks to the native yeasts present in the bloom of the grapes. We pay particular attention to the minimum use of sulfur. In logical continuity with our philosophy of terroir wines, our winemaking remains minimalist.
The rosé wines are blended from Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah. Rosé juices are obtained by more or less long skin maceration.
Gasqui white wines are made from the Clairette, Sémillon, Rolle and Ugni blanc grape varieties. They are obtained by maceration of fresh juices or by direct pressing. Citius is aged in stainless steel vats while Tardius is aged in oak barrels.
Red wines are composed mainly Grenache and Syrah.
Gentle extraction of the material is
sought after during vatting.
