In 1929, a talented man of vision, Mr Georges Mestreguilhem, founded the family estates, Château Pipeau by purchasing 7 hectares of vineyards. Four generations later, the vineyards cover 25 hectares, firmly-rooted at the bottom of the hill of Saint-Emilion, the estate management staying a family affair. With the passage of time, the family passion has grown, perfected the vineyards, the vinification techniques, while at the same time developing the renown of the Château. The wine-making is a marriage between tecnical evolution and the art acquired and handed down from vintage to vintage. Château Pipeau is now managed by Jean Mestreguilhem, still assisted by his father Richard. Jean is used to wine cellar and has worked in some of the most famous wineries all around the world as Château de Fieuzal, Screaming Eagle winery or Anwilka vineyard.
The wine of Château Pipeau offer a consistent style and personality. An expressive fruit, an opulent nose of red berries, roundness on the palate, with good length and a harmonious and elegant finish. Château Pipeau is very delightfull when young but it also has all the qualities for laying-down of a really great Saint-Emilion Grand Cru.
