In 1640, the Henriot family left their native Lorraine and settled in Champagne, initially focusing on cloth production before expanding into the world of wine. After acquiring land for vineyards, they became experts in viticulture and developed a deep understanding of their terroirs.
In 1808, Apolline Henriot, the young widow of Nicolas Henriot, established her Champagne house with the ambition of showcasing her lands through the creation of exceptional Champagne. Apolline had a profound love for the Champagne region, appreciating the beauty of its vines and landscapes. Her vineyard, located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, and the 1718 reference book "Ways to grow vines and make wine in Champagne," attributed to her great-uncle Canon Godinot, served as sources of inspiration for her when founding the House.
Today, Maison Henriot continues to honor Apolline Henriot's legacy by perpetuating her vision of vines and wine for more than two centuries.
