Our house was founded by Guillaume, Richard and Rodolphe Frerejean-Taittinger, locals who grew up in the vineyards and know all their secrets. They are the latest in a line of cannon makers who supplied the French army against Prussian attacks during the Napoleonic Wars. They began by making champagne for friends and family, then word spread and they went into business in 2005. At Champagne Frerejean Frères, we take a fresh approach to champagne-making. We strive to respect traditional methods while leaving a place for innovation. Our production process is low-chemical, honoring the earth by using minimal pesticides on our vines and low levels of sulfites in our champagne. Our champagne is now sold all over the world, but we have remained faithful to a small-scale approach. We produce champagnes with traditional know-how and rigorous expertise using grapes from the unique terroir of the Côte des Blancs and our wines are made from the region's finest crus. From the moment the grapes are harvested, our main concern is quality. Wines of character, both complex and elegant, produced exclusively from Premier and Grand Cru. We make it a point of honor to develop only the very best.
