The brand of our estate was created in 1974 by Denis SALOMON. In 2004, Nicolas SALOMON, 5th generation of the same name, returns to the domain after acquiring experience on Bordeaux. Our domain is set in the heart of the Champagne region and lies a few miles from Epernay, the capital of Champagne. The village of Vandières clings to the sunny and sometimes sheer slopes of the Marne Valley – the vineyard is south-facing. A Few Figures: The Vines: Surface area of the vineyard: 4.8 Ha. Grape varieties planted: Chardonnay 15%, Pinot Noir 15%, Meunier 70%. Number of plots: 22 Number of cru (villages): 6 (Vandières, Verneuil, Venteuil, Boursault, Mareuil le Port, Damery). Average age of vines: 30 years Oldest vines: 55 years. This wide range of different "Crus " allows us to produce 34000 bottles per year, and to have a complete and varied range to meet every moment to enjoy the Champagne. For several years, on Nicolas’ initiative, the estate has been turning towards integrated winegrowing. “Our terroir is so precious and famous throughout the entire world that we have to respect it. This involves gentle and considered winegrowing methods which always take into account the quality of the future grapes. It is up to the winegrowers to cultivate their land with care so that the champagnes’ every nuance can be fully expressed.”
