Candoni De Zan Wines
Family
The De Zan and the Candoni families have been involved in winemaking since the late 1800’s. After Armando De Zan and Elviana Candoni got married, they gradually acquired the Polvaro Estate in the Venetian countryside, and the CDZ Vini winery in Piedmont, as well as vineyards in different regions of Italy.
Armando De Zan has been one of the first entrepreneurs to successfully introduce Italian wines in the U.S. market, after having lived in Atlanta for over 12 years.
Tenuta Polvaro
Tenuta Polvaro’s wine production is closely linked to the fertile lands that surround it. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Glera, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Bianco, Malbech and Traminer are the vines whose processing guarantees a quality product, since they are cultivated with the Guyot and spurred-cordon systems.
The harvested grapes are transformed in the company cellar where the most modern oenological techniques are employed to enhance the uniqueness of the wines. The cellars are divided into three sectors where the stages of vinification, grape storage and warehouse take place. To conclude with the barrel room, the place where the wines are aged.
With sustainability as a core tenet of the company, Tenuta Polvaro is SQNPI certified for its quality agricultural production system with minimal environmental impact, guaranteeing a competitive world-class standard of sustainability.
