Co-exhibitor of PIEMONTE LAND OF WINE
The Castello di Tassarolo winery, named after the nearby castle of the historic
Spinola family, has been producing wine since the 12th century.
The winery, which is located in the heart of Gavi, in Piedmont, turned to agriculture
Biodynamic farming in 2006 to preserve Nature and bring people healthy wines
that have no immediate or long-term negative effects on health.
It was the first company to produce a Gavi without added sulphites, in 2007, and to
use draft horses in the vineyard in Italy.
It covers 27 hectares, 18 of which are planted with Cortese di Gavi, Barbera and Cabernet
Sauvignon. We think that creating a wine means following all the processes from
cultivation of the vine to vinification, from bottling to ageing:
to be responsible for the whole process.
The company produces certified organic and biodynamic wines with around
60g/l of total sulphur dioxide and some wines without added sulphites. We also do not use animal products during the
vinification.
La cave Castello di Tassarolo, qui tire son nom du château voisin de la famille historique Spinola, produit du vin depuis le XIIe siècle.
Spinola, produit du vin depuis le XIIe siècle.
Experimentation is a very important part of our company both in the vineyard
and in the cellar because progress is not possible without it.
In fact, along with the traditional wines, over the years we have added products
innovative products that are unique and very successful such as Spinola Gavi, Il
Cuveè Monferrato Rosso and Ombra, an amphora orange wine, to name but a few.
A return to the distant past revisited to be always in the future is our
philosophy together with respect for life, for animals, plants, our employees and
our customers. GOOD, CLEAN AND FAIR, the words of Slow Food that are our motto.
