The estate has been in the hands of the Counts della Gherardesca for centuries and has been passed down from generation to generation. At its core, the development of the estate always valued and respected agriculture as its guiding principle.   Embracing the family's secular tradition, Federico Zileri Dal Verme has been at the helm of the project “Azienda Agricola Castello di Bolgheri” since the mid 1990s. His vision, passion and commitment, shared with his parents and a first-rate team, brought innovation to the original processes and techniques, and established a new path for the ancient winery. The origin of the cellar,the oldest in Bolgheri area was build in 1796, is rooted in the ancient history of the della Gherardesca family. Since the mid-nineties, Federico Zileri Dal Verme has strived to produce wines that represent the highest expression of Bolgheri’s terroir in terms of complexity, elegance and longevity. Situated at the heart of Bolgheri, the two-storied cellar stands as a testament to time.
